Medically reviewed by Dr. Rajendra Gawai, M.B.B.S

Rainy season affects both your general and skin health adversely. Typhoid is a common infection during rainy season, hence drink boiled water and avoid street food and juices. Diabetic patients should take special precautions in rainy season since old problems may erupt abruptly and further would healing too gets delayed. They should wear open foot wear like sandals so that dampness dries.

PRECAUTIONS FOR HAZARDOUS EFFECT OF RAIN ON OUR HEALTH

Our body becomes low on immunity due to high amount of humidity in atmosphere. Hence immunity boosting foods should be consumed. Turmeric, Garlic, Papaya, Pumpkin, Dry fruits, beet root are good immunity boosting food. Vegetables and Salad too are required. Diet rich in A, C and E is good for skin. Hot water early in the morning and a glass of milk before going to bed is also suggested. Further humidity makes body loose lots of water in the form of sweat which makes it necessary to stay hydrated. Once you get wet remove the wet clothes as soon as possible and wear dry clothes. Further dandruff can be a common problem during rainy season. Curd with its antifungal properties can help combat dandruff effectively. Apply fresh crud to your scalp and hair, massaging gently. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and then wash it off with a mild shampoo.

CARE BY CHILDREN IN RAINY SEASON

Immunity boosting food as mentioned above should be consumed and fast food and street food should be avoided. Need not to mention that washing of hands and clean personal hygiene should be maintained. Further take care that they carry umbrella and rain coat during the season. Mosquitoes are rampant during rainy season , hence full sleeves clothes and mosquito repellent can be useful.
