Medically reviewed by Dr. Rajendra Gawai, M.B.B.S

Yoghurt is rich in lactobacillus a probiotic bacterium. Yoghurt not only cools the body but also reduces acidity and the burning sensation in the stomach. It also helps in better digestion.
Consuming more than two servings of Yoghurt per week may lower the risk of heart disease or a stroke. Yoghurt helps in lowering blood pressure. This is because dairy foods contain a range of micronutrients including calcium magnesium and potassium all of which are involved in the regulation of blood pressure

Yogurt is excellent during summer. Probiotics found in yogurt assist in regulating internal body temperature. Further since plain yogurt contains 88 percent water, it is an excellent source for replenishing fluids and essential electrolytes like potassium and magnesium lost through sweat.

Yoghurt is also said to be good to relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety

Further Yogurt has cosmetic benefits too. Mixed with tomato extracts, the paste should be applied on face . This should be kept for half an hour and later on should be washed with cold water. This will get rid of stubborn tan. Further Yoghurt helps revive dull and tired skin by gently cleansing it.

Make the ovalface with your mouth stretching out the area below nose. Prevents wrinkles and minimize the effects of ageing.
